Christel Holmgren-Exner, born in Vienna, Austria, studied industrial design at the Academy of Applied Art in Vienna. After some years of experience in a Danish design studio, Acton Bjørn & Bernadotte, and as the head of the Austrian Design Centre in Vienna, she married and moved to Denmark where she worked as a designer at the well-known glasswork Holmegaard.
Christer Holmgren, born in Malmö, Sweden, studied ceramic, graphic and industrial design at the School of Applied Art in Gothenburg. After graduation he worked for several years as a glass designer at Holmegaard in Denmark.
In 1971 Christel & Christer Holmgren established their design studio in Naestved, Denmark. Since then, they have been working with industrial design and product design for Scandinavian and international companies in the field of glass, porcelain, kitchenware and household articles, toys, graphics and design for the disabled.
For their work they have received several design awards and participated in many national and international exhibitions.
Rooted in Scandinavian / European design tradition they look upon themselves as designers of products whose primary object is to serve mankind.
The abiding value and touch of imagination inherent in their products are intended to be a constant source of pleasure.
